K7PP eats a little crow.
Well, it's hard to deal with failure but, it's part of learning. Working on a piece of equipment with up to 7000 volts inside is daunting. Measuring voltages is difficult as the unit has interlocks everywhere. Observation and schematic analysis is all that's left. In this case, I was lead down the garden path, so to speak. To complicate things further, what I was seeing was not the ultimate problem. I treated the visible results and not the cause. I suppose that's a lesson learned????
