A soft, slow birthday | Curbar Edge picnic & little moments that meant everything 🤍🎂 Ever so grateful for my Mum-in-law to make this happen. An extra special day. 💛😘🥰 This year, my birthday wasn’t about big plans or fancy celebrations… it turned into something much quieter, softer—and honestly, more meaningful than I expected. We started the day in Matlock, visiting a garden centre and checking out their restaurant. We were hoping for a proper Sunday meal, but most of the dishes we wanted—especially the beef and steaks—weren’t available. It felt like one of those little “ah, okay…” moments, but instead of being disappointed, we just went with the flow. So we drove to Bakewell and picked up something simple—burgers and chips. Nothing fancy, just comfort food. And somehow, it felt just right.👍🏻 We took our food up to Curbar Edge and had a car picnic overlooking the valley. Sitting there, watching the wide open views, feeling the breeze, and just being present… it made me pause. Life has been busy, especially being pregnant and taking care of a toddler—but in that moment, everything felt still. Peaceful. Full.💛🥰 It reminded me that birthdays don’t always have to be grand to be special. Sometimes, it’s the quiet ones—the ones where you’re surrounded by love, fresh air, and simple joys—that stay with you the most. After our little picnic, we went back to Bakewell so Sam could run around and enjoy the playground. Seeing him so happy, so free, laughing and exploring… it filled my heart in a way I can’t even explain. We even had the sweetest little moment playing with a ladybug 🐞—such a tiny thing, but it made the day feel even more magical and alive. As a mum, especially carrying another little life, birthdays feel different now. It’s less about me, and more about these shared moments… these memories we’re quietly building as a family.
