Tola entrevista a Manuel Fraga Iribarne en 1988

Manuel Fraga Iribarne was a Spanish politician, diplomat, and university professor who held various positions during the Franco dictatorship and the democratic era. In 1988, Fraga was the president of Alianza Popular (AP), a right-wing party he had founded in 1976. That year, Fraga spearheaded the restructuring of AP, which became the Partido Popular (PP), with the aim of broadening its electoral base and moderating its image. Fraga relinquished the PP presidency to José María Aznar, a young leader of the reformist wing, and focused on Galician politics, where he aspired to become president of the Junta de Galicia (Galician Regional Government). Fraga also served as a Member of the European Parliament from 1987 to 1989, representing the People's Party in the European Parliament. Fraga was a key figure in the Spanish transition to democracy and in the consolidation of the party system. His political career spanned more than 50 years and earned him recognition from both his adversaries and the public.
