日本習字漢字部令和7年7月号隷書課題「歳月流水の如し」

◎ Be aware that horizontal strokes are horizontal and vertical strokes are vertical. ◎ Stop lightly at the end of a left stroke. ○ "Toshi" has eleven strokes, and "nagare" has a ha-taku on the final stroke. "Mizu" is a right stroke. In all cases, stop in one stroke and stroke slowly. This month we will once again be aware of the basics of clerical script. The character shapes are basically flat and nearly symmetrical. Horizontal strokes are nearly horizontal, vertical strokes are basically vertical. The distance between strokes is roughly equal. The first stroke is made with a reverse stroke, creating a kabuki. A reverse stroke is made by entering the brush from the opposite direction to the direction of travel, and a kabuki is made by wrapping the tip of the brush inside the dot. Also, be aware of reverse strokes and kabuki when writing short dots. Write turns in two strokes. Horizontal strokes may have a kabuki (the basic rule is to add a kabuki to only one stroke in a character = one wave per character). *In the clerical script assignment, we are learning "Hachibunrei" with a wave-shaped line, which is usually attached to the main horizontal stroke or the right stroke. The first stroke is a reverse stroke and a zōbō, and the last stroke is a relaxed stroke after stopping the brush. ・For left strokes and flicks, stop lightly as if pushing out.
