Review: Karajan's Complete EMI (Warner) Opera Recordings
This was the second of two huge boxes that EMI released a couple of decades ago, covering Karajan's complete recordings for the label. This one contains 70+ CDs, and there has never been a collected edition of his EMI opera and vocal recordings since. Many of his finest versions of works by Mozart, Strauss, Verdi, Puccini and Wagner can be found here. Correction: I got my Otellos mixed up--Karajan's Otello is Vickers, not Domingo. Thanks to all who caught that. I have no idea what I was thinking, or even IF I was thinking....
