Pharmaceutical Countermeasures for Radiation Emergencies – KI (Potassium Iodide)
This video provides information on potassium iodide or “KI”. Potassium iodide comes in a pill or a liquid and contains stable, non-radioactive iodine that can help block radioactive iodine from being absorbed by the thyroid gland. KI is available without a prescription, but should only be taken on the advice of public health or emergency management officials.
