Former Nikon employee Tetsuro Goto and my modified Nikon F3 (Prologue) [A Nikon story, not a Nikon myth] This episode features former Nikon employee Tetsuro Goto, who was responsible for the design and implementation of the two ICs in the Nikon F3's electrical circuit, as well as modifications and maintenance until production ended!!! I recently learned that former Nikon employee Tetsuro Goto was the one who came up with the idea for installing the illuminator microswitch on my modified Nikon F3. In the early days of accepting requests for illuminator microswitch modifications, Tetsuro Goto himself modified the F3s that were submitted through the NPS office. Goto has not only designed and developed the Nikon F3, but also many other Nikon cameras, including the Nikon F5, F6, D3S, and D f. In particular, he led the Goto Laboratory in the development of the Nikon D f, bringing the Nikon D f to market with "that shape and design" during the digital SLR era. One day in May 2024, at a special meeting of the Nikon Study Group, I suddenly arranged for former Nikon employee Tetsuro Goto to disassemble my modified Nikon F3 for press use (to check whether the internal circuit boards were weather-resistant) and examine it.
