In an effort to enhance community participation and support the health system in the governorate, Beni Suef witnessed a coordination meeting this morning to discuss avenues of cooperation with the Al-Azhar Preaching and Religious Media Department. The aim is to launch extensive blood donation campaigns in the governorate's villages and towns under the slogan "A Blood-Donating Village." The meeting, held at the Al-Azhar Preaching and Religious Media Department, was attended by Sheikh Reda Abdel Halim, Director General of the Department, and Dr. Sahar Abdel Sattar Ali, Director General of the Beni Suef Regional Blood Bank. The meeting was held to coordinate with Mr. Hamada Ali Morsi, a prominent figure in community work in the village of Saft Al-Arfa, located in the Al-Fashn district. The meeting resulted in an agreement to officially launch the initiative and begin its first activities in Saft Al-Arfa village, Al-Fashn district. Mr. Hamada Ali Morsi will be responsible for field coordination, outreach, and organizing the donation campaign within the village, encouraging residents and raising their awareness of the importance of contributing to the blood bank. This pilot program is planned to be rolled out to several villages in the governorate, following the success of the first phase, with the goal of transforming them into sustainable "blood-donor villages." The initiative aims to leverage enlightened religious discourse to raise awareness among citizens about the humanitarian and religious dimensions of blood donation—which is considered a life-saving act. Through these campaigns, the regional blood bank seeks to increase its strategic reserves to meet growing demand, address emergency needs arising from road accidents and severe bleeding, support patients undergoing major surgeries, treat anemia, and provide necessary medical care for newborns and premature infants. This collaboration reflects the combined efforts of religious and medical institutions and civil society in Beni Suef to solidify a culture of blood donation as a national and humanitarian duty that ensures saving the lives of thousands of patients and injured individuals.
