Johannes Brahms Rhapsody Op. 119 No. 4 - Ervin Nyiregyházi (Score)
Another Nyiregyhazi recording with terrifying passion and fury of this Brahms Rhapsody, a piece with great chord progression, a nice melody, and a climactic ending. His recording here is live at the Old First Church on May 6, 1973. Taken from Sonetto Classics' Nyiregyházi Live Vol. 3 album Recording used: • Ervin Nyiregyházi plays Johannes Brahms -... His playing, like always, exhibits loudness, where here he plays loud instead of crescendos, and f or ff instead of p or pp as written. His bass notes always shine in almost all of his recordings and here is no exception, voicing the bottom bass notes in octaves and such. This piece is great because it is already composed with low bass notes. Must have been a spectacle to to listen to this live
