Heading In Search of The Orca at Capernwray Diving Centre

#ScubaDiving #MasterScubaDiver #UnderwaterExploration Our second dive on the 2nd February 2025, with Ian Mycroft and on this dive joined by Neil Williams. The water temperature was a very chilly five degrees Celsius; this proved later to be a problem for one of our divers. I was undecided as to whether to upload this video for two reasons. [1] My camera mount has left an 'artefact' (a grey smudge) in some of the footage. This is because the mount wasn't entirely straight when I started filming, so that's operator error! [2] It would seem that I'm still struggling with my winter undersuit. It's warm enough for these low water temperatures, but the trade off is that it's very buoyant - that makes ME very buoyant and it also sometimes inhibits the air flow to my shoulder vent valve. You'll notice that venting isn't 'slick' and requires some focus and effort. I decided to upload the video as it's realistic and includes some of the common issues that divers face in cold UK waters.
