Gripping a Football - Football Pro Tips
Holding a football incorrectly is one of the most common mistakes made by young players. The perfect touchdown pass starts with the right football grip. Some players are told to put their fingertip on the point of the football. Others learn to hold a football with the palm at the nose where the ball is at a narrow point. Neither are the proper way to grip a football. The proper football grip is with your ring finger on the second lace of the football (starting from the back of the laces) at your second knuckle on your finger. Then take your index finger and place it just over the stitch line and the pink should be underneath the lace. Finally, when gripping a football, place your thumb directly under your index finger.
