This means that around 822,000 tons of plastic waste are produced every day in the world. On the other hand, if this plastic waste is left alone, it will pollute the soil and water during the decomposition process. The natural decomposition process of plastic also takes a long time, from 100 years to 500 years depending on the type of plastic. This condition is what makes developed countries like Germany utilize plastic as much as possible, including recycling this plastic waste so that it can be reused and save the environment from plastic waste contamination. In Germany, the waste management system is very orderly and managed with good regulations and high public awareness. This system involves very efficient collection and recycling for various types of waste, including plastic. If in Indonesia waste is only divided into two, namely organic and inorganic, in Germany waste is classified with 5 colors. Plastic waste is placed in a yellow bin with cardboard and light metals such as cans. This waste recycling plant works by accommodating plastic waste from a radius of 300 km covering 4 states where 120,000 tons of waste are collected each year. The first process of this recycling is the process of separating the types of plastic waste that can be recycled and those that cannot.
