On April 21, 2026, the Venus Line finally reopened after its winter closure. The following day, April 22nd, at dawn, I rode along the breathtaking road before anyone else arrived. I left Lake Shirakaba around 5:00 AM. Mount Fuji, illuminated by the morning sun, was clearly visible. At 6:00 AM, I was the only one at the Kirigamine parking lot. As I progressed through Wada Pass, Mitsumine, and Tobira Pass, the wind intensified. By 6:30 AM, the area around Yamamoto Hut and the Utsukushigahara Kogen Museum was a freezing cold world with temperatures of 2-3°C and swirling winds. However, there was a "miracle" that can only be encountered in the early morning. A family of pheasants appeared without any fear, their calls echoing through the silent mountains. In exchange for the strong winds, I gained a magnificent view of the clear dawn. It was less about "riding" and more about "savoring the world."
