After several years living on Lundy Island, we are beginning a completely new chapter in Portugal. Our house, located close to Tomar and the Camino route from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela, is slowly being renovated and restored — although, as anyone in Portugal knows, progress rarely happens quickly. What makes this project even more meaningful is the historic connection between Lundy and the Knights Templar. In 1160, King Henry II transferred Lundy to the Templars, whose influence can still be found on the island today through Knight Templar Rock. Our Portuguese home now lies close to Tomar, one of the most important Templar sites in Europe and home to the UNESCO-listed Convent of Christ. This video is the beginning of the story.
