Ramadan Tips from DEI sector

This Ramadan, specialists from the diversity, equity and inclusion sector in the UK give their top tips in how to create an inclusive workplace environment for Muslim staff. The tips include: -Go beyond the surface and create policies that make sure Muslim staff are included at a deeper level -Start your Ramadan plans early and include your Muslim colleagues in the conversation -Embed Ramadan into workplace calendars as an institutional level -Ask your colleagues what they need during Ramadan and be an active ally -Make sure your conversation about inclusion for Muslims beyond Ramadan -Staff should be open about their requirements and needs during Ramadan -Attend an iftar with your Muslim colleagues; there are many interfaith iftars taking place -Ensure Muslims are protected from hate crime and institutional discrimination all year round, but in Ramadan their ‘Muslimness’ will be much more visible We hope this video helps to give you an insight into Muslim needs during the fasting period, and encourages you to find out more about Ramadan, and to take part in iftars and community activities.
