(10 Jul 1952) The new 53,000 ton liner "United States", biggest ever built in America, handsomely fulfilled her record-breaking promise. Calling at Le Havre, she berthed close to HMS "Indomitable". Both Commodore Manning, the Captain, and Miss Margaret Truman had comments to make on the trip. Arriving at Southampton, the liner received a great reception.
