Good Teamwork Means Better Maternity Care: NMC-GMC Webinar

Watch back our Good Teamwork Means Better Maternity Care webinar. Multidisciplinary maternity teams bring together a wide range of professionals, all working towards one shared goal – delivering the best possible care for women, babies and families. In this session, we explore the importance of effective teamwork in maternity services and introduce new resources developed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and General Medical Council (GMC) to support professionals in practice. You’ll hear perspectives from: • Paris Pinnock-Cowell and May Stevens, whose work as Cultural Safety Midwives features in the NMC case studies; • Dr Tony Kelly, the National Specialty Advisor for the Maternity and Neonatal Programme in NHS England; and • Imelda Smyth, a service user representative of the NMC’s Maternity Strategic Advisory Group (MSAG). Together, they share insights on what good teamwork looks like in practice, and why it matters.
