John, José and Benji are off on their next big adventure - this time on a road trip through Germany and Poland. In the first episode of their new series, they explore the forgotten areas of former East Germany. Their first stop is the small village of Spantekow, deep in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Here they want to experience the authentic atmosphere of the former GDR and see if there are still remnants of the communist past. Maybe they can even spot an old Trabant on the road. But they're also curious about the natural treasures in this region. They wonder if in the hinterlands of Spantekow they can finally enjoy an unspoiled, sparkling starry sky, now that they're far away from the city lights. After all that time working in the big city, José works in Amsterdam after all, and John in the sprawling Zwaag... They're longing to relax again under the infinity of the vast, dark firmament.
