Mansfield DAV Chapter 246 Serving Disabled Veterans #mansfieldtx X
Here is a great way to support Our Veterans Meet Michael Jennings-Commander Meet Austin Sanders, Sr. Vice Commander We have served 200 Veterans. We meet every Thursday in Mansfield, Texas. Location: Chris W. Burkett Service Center 620 S Wisteria St, Mansfield, TX 76063 Every Thursday, 5 PM Come join us. 1. What is DAV Chapter 246, and why was it important to establish a chapter here in Mansfield? DAV Chapter 246 is the first Disabled American Veterans chapter ever established in Mansfield. We recognized that thousands of veterans in our community had to travel long distances to receive assistance with their VA benefits and claims. Our mission is to bring those services closer to home while creating a place where veterans can connect, support one another, and continue serving their community. 2. What makes the Disabled American Veterans organization different from other veteran organizations? One of the biggest differences is that DAV never charges veterans for claims assistance. Every veteran deserves access to the benefits they earned through their military service, regardless of their financial situation. Our accredited Service Officers help veterans and their families navigate the VA claims process at absolutely no cost. 3. Do veterans have to be members of DAV to receive help? No, absolutely not. That's something we want everyone to know. Veterans do not have to be DAV members to receive assistance with their VA benefits or claims. If you've served our country and need help, we're here for you. 4. What has the chapter accomplished since opening? We're very proud of what we've accomplished in a short amount of time. We've already helped dozens of local veterans file VA disability claims and connect with the benefits they've earned. Every claim represents a veteran whose life may be improved through access to healthcare, disability compensation, or other VA services. 5. Besides helping with VA claims, what other things does the chapter do? We're committed to serving veterans wherever they are. We conduct nursing home visits to spend time with veterans who may not have family nearby, participate in community outreach events, provide information about veterans' benefits, and organize events that bring veterans together. Our mission is about more than paperwork—it's about building a stronger veteran community. 6. What are your long-term goals for DAV Chapter 246? Our goal is to establish a permanent DAV office here in Mansfield where accredited Service Officers can assist veterans year-round. We want veterans to have a local place where they can receive trusted guidance, resources, and support without having to travel outside the community. 7. Tell us about the Veterans Benefits Event coming up in September. We're excited to host a Veterans Benefits Event on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Mansfield ISD Performing Arts Center. Our goal is to bring together VA representatives, accredited Service Officers, medical professionals, and community partners in one location so veterans can receive assistance with their claims and learn about the benefits available to them. We hope to make this one of the largest veterans outreach events in our area. 8. Why is community support so important to your chapter? Supporting veterans is truly a community effort. We're grateful for the support we've received from the City of Mansfield, local businesses, volunteers, and community organizations. Every partnership helps us reach more veterans and provide more services. Together, we can make sure no veteran feels forgotten. 9. If someone listening today knows a veteran who may need help, what should they do? Please encourage them to contact DAV Chapter 246 at 2148310298. Whether they're just getting started with a VA claim, have been denied benefits, or simply have questions, we're here to help. There is never a charge for our services, and you do not need to be a member of DAV. 10. What message would you like to leave with our listeners? Answer: To every veteran listening today—thank you for your service. If you need help, don't wait. You earned these benefits through your service to our country, and you shouldn't have to navigate the system alone. DAV Chapter 246 is here to stand beside you every step of the way. And to our community members, thank you for supporting the men and women who have served. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of our local veterans. 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up?
