The Ustasha Alcazar (12+) (Republika Srpska / Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2026) Duration: 32 minutes Language: Serbian Author: Dr. Nikola Ožegović, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka, Republika Srpska / Bosnia and Herzegovina [email protected] English Translation: Diana Topalski Synopsis: The film is dedicated to the issue of the genocide committed against Serbs by the pro-Hitler Independent State of Croatia during World War II. It presents the broader historical context, while focusing primarily on the territory of Bosnian Krajina. The central part of the film consists of the personal testimony of Trivo Zolak, a journalist and travel writer who, as a ten-year-old child in 1941, witnessed the execution of 137 Serbs by Muslim and Croatian Ustasha forces in the village of Sanica, including his father, grandfather, and many members of his family. The main goal of the film is to preserve the memory of the suffering of the Serbian people and their anti-fascist struggle, as well as to oppose historical revisionism aimed at denying the genocide of Serbs, glorifying the Ustasha movement, and praising the Independent State of Croatia.
