Soren Kierkegaard - Repetition/Recollection/Remembering

In this final video in my series on Kierkegaard, I turn to the difference between recollection and remembering. The latter is effectively a sterile act, whereas the former is productive, and inspires action through the deliberate inculcation of a “mood.” We also discuss look at repetition, another important idea in Kierkegaard. Repetition is basically the deepening of a single thought, as opposed to both finishing a task quickly but superficially, and simply re-experiencing something again. It has particular reference to subjectivity, which is the one task we are continually engaged with our whole lives.
