He is deeply involved in the economics of the insurance and finance industries and in continental economic debates, particularly during this crucial period. We will discuss the necessity, even the urgency, of finding new ways to finance African economies, notably through the mobilization of domestic savings, especially by developing insurance and social protection systems. We will also talk about a rising idea: that of providing African countries, as well as groups of countries, with sovereign wealth funds that can intervene directly in continental economic projects, when institutional donors do not want to or cannot.
