Electric Tractors Are Available, Would You Buy One? How About Autonomous?

I had a chance recently to see my very first electric tractor. This is not a concept or prototype, this was a working electric compact tractor with a front end loader for sale at a dealership. It's called a Solectrac and it's a product that would appear to appeal to at least a portion of my viewers and maybe more than I would have predicted. So, this video will function as a forum to gauge your interest in such a product. I've been watching Solectrac grow as a company, from a concept, to prototypes, to starting a dealer network. I honestly didn't expect to see their product on dealer's lots, but on a trip to Brim Tractor in Washington and Oregon, there they were. I didn't have a great deal of time to study them, but I'm very intrigued by the concept. If you travel to the Pacific Northwest, you'll notice a growing percentage of cars on the road are electric-powered. Where I live, a Tesla is a bit of an anomaly, but traveling on the coastal areas, I'd estimate that about 1 out of 25-30 cars you meet is a Tesla. Part of that is because they're "trendy", and there seems to be no shortage of disposable income in that part of the world, but high fuel prices and environmental concerns are also driving the trend. I wondered, would the folks who are buying Teslas also be candidates for electric tractors? So, I thought I'd ask and see what viewer response is. Would you buy and electric tractor? Feel free to put your answer in the comments I'm also curious about autonomy. It's my opinion that we're close to a point where you won't need to ride a mower to cut your yard or pasture. There are already GPS controlled robotic lawn mowers on the market, could a similar rough cut "Bush Hog"-type product be far behind? If a product like that were available, would you be interested? Or do you enjoy the tractor seat time? Personally, I'd not be opposed to buying an electric tractor, especially with diesel prices where they are, if I were shopping. I'd want to know that it had longevity and could do all of the lifting jobs that my tractor does. I have a tractor that's paid for, though, so I'm not likely to ever be a prospect for an electric tractor. At my age, the tractor I have should last until the kids sell it an my estate sale when I'm 6 feet under. If I could get out of riding the tractor around with the bush hog on the back I'd be all in. Anything to get out of the dust and the hornets while I'm able to accomplish something else seems really attractive. I'm not sure I'm ready to trade my zero-turn on a robotic mower, but if they keep getting better and cheaper, that could all change.
