WE TAKE A WILD SHORTCUT.. Outback Travel - Great Central Road

Welcome back! This week we are continuing on the Great Central Road, Australia's longest shortcut towards Uluru with our Next Gen Ford Ranger and Network RV caravan, Bryce and Juice get back from a walk before we hit the road, we see a huge caravan of camels on the road as we continue north east. Warakurna is the next stop we pull in early, fuel up and find a camp spot for the night. Warakurna is a cool little community and roadhouse where they also have the Giles Weather station to see the weather balloon release which is vital for weather predictions in australia. The Giles weather station has a museum where you can learn about how the Gunbarrel Highway was constructed. As we continue east we cross the border in the NT and stop in at Lassiter's Cave and learn about the river of gold. We finally hit the bitumen after 3 days and 950 km of dirt road, airing up before looking for camp. We come across a gravel pit with unreal views.
