Why Do I Play Historical Wargames?

Hi everyone, welcome back to the channel and the first video in the new place. There has been a bit of friction across the historical scene recently and I’ve seen a lot of comments from people genuinely wondering why people even play historicals and how they would get into it. I thought a good way to approach this was to explain how I got into historicals, why I play them and why they have now become the predominant part of the wider wargaming hobby that I enjoy the most. I have even suggested 6 sets of rules that people may want to check out if they want to try our historicals but don't know what to try (these are just my opinion, would love to hear others). Other people will disagree with some of the points and that’s totally fine, would love to hear about why you love gaming hisotiricals or even if you're thinking of starting and the system you have chosen.
