Sport Scientist & Dietitian Review SiS (Science in Sport) Beta Fuel

This company was created for cyclists and endurance athletes. The idea was to create an "isotonic" formula that could be used with little water. Originally they used the 2:1 glucose to fructose ratio in their products and recently they moved to a 1:0.8 ratio. The initial Beta fuel had 222mg sodium and 80g CHO per serving and the new Beta fuel has 10mg sodium and 80g CHO. This means that the new Beta fuel will require supplementing with sodium from another product to meet your endurance needs. If we had to use this product, we would make sure to add sodium citrate to meet athletes' electrolyte needs.
