This time, the workshop was visited by the KHP HL 5.5KW 48V, a cheap hybrid inverter from AliExpress that I bought for my future off-grid installation on my property 😊 And honestly... I expected another budget-friendly design with a few compromises, but in the end, I got a device that really surprised me. The biggest shock? Someone finally designed the cooling properly 😄 It sounds funny, but most cheap inverters literally defy physics and try to expel hot air downwards or store the heat inside the enclosure. Here, hot air naturally flows upwards, so the cooling system works logically and efficiently. It seems like a small detail, but these are the things that often determine the longevity of the electronics. The second thing I really liked was the number of safety features built directly into the device. We have the following protections: ⚡ PV inputs ⚡ AC inputs ⚡ AC outputs ⚡ 48V energy storage This is a huge advantage over many cheap designs on AliExpress, where the user then has to figure out how to protect the installation themselves. Here, many people will be able to practically: 🔋 connect the energy storage ☀️ connect the panels ⚡ start the installation and simply use it safely. The MPPT works quite aggressively and actively seeks the panels' best operating point. At first, I was a bit surprised by its operation, but after longer tests, it seems really stable and reasonable. Regarding power: The manufacturer claims 5500W, and the device actually achieves this power without any problems. Several times, I exceeded around 5800W, and then the inverter restarted, but importantly, without any loss of sine wave quality or unusual voltage spikes. In my opinion, it looks as if the manufacturer deliberately limited the device in software to maintain stable and safe operation. Noise? I've heard much quieter and much louder designs 😄 I would describe this model as quite normal and acceptable for everyday use.
