Turning a Hazardous Bowl - Bowl blowout doesn't stop me (but maybe it should have)

This week it's not what I intended, but it's a cool (and hazardous to turn) natural edge piece. A big chunk of magnolia with some deep inclusions decides to blow off a chunk and leave me with the decision to either stop there (like a normal person), make a smaller bowl (like a determined person), or risk catastrophic failure turning a bowl with a void on one side and missing a decent portion of the other side as well as the rim (like a stubborn person)... guess which route I chose. Yes, of course I did. And, yes, I still have all my fingers! 00:00 Introduction 00:06 Chainsawing the blank 00:47 Assessing the blank 01:49 Planning the piece 03:02 Roughing the blank 04:52 Shaping the outside 08:50 Hollowing the inside 23:40 A Little Surprise 24:53 Continuing to hollow 56:25 Closing thoughts & photos Let me know what you think in the comments or PLEASE ask me a question!
