Learn from the Best at the Army Mountain Warfare School
From Italy during World War II to Korea in the 1950s and Afghanistan in the 2000s, mountaineering has long been a necessary skill for U.S. service members to operate in mountainous terrain. The Defense Department has a few schools that train students on mountaineering, but it's main training center is the Army Mountain Warfare School near Jericho, Vermont. Its instructors are the best of the best. --------------- Your military is an all-volunteer force that serves to protect our security and way of life, but Service members are more than a fighting force. They are leaders, humanitarians and your fellow Americans. Get to know more about the men and women who serve, who they are, what they do, and why they do it.
