How to pair AirTurn DUO with iPad to use with Ultimate Guitar app

www.MarkSwanUSA.com This video shows how to pair a AirTurn DUO (BT-200) with an iPad (same for iPhone) so that it can be used to control the Ultimate Guitar app. I have had issues in the past and had to go all through this again when updating iOS. One of the most important things I have learned is that if you don't get the pop-up asking to pair, it is likely that the AirTurn will NOT work with Ultimate Guitar. To properly get this "pair" pop-up, you should clear the AirTurn's memory of previously paired devices AND tell your iPad or iPhone to "forget" the AirTurn device. To clear the AirTurn, while the AirTurn is on, hold the power button for 6 seconds until the blue and red lights flash three times. Then start the pairing process again. You should only have to go through this procedure once. After that initial pairing, each time you turn on your AirTurn to use it, the pairing should be fine. However, I am in the habit of going all the way through the "Profile", "Settings", "Pedal Interface", and "Air Turn Settings" each time I bring up the Ultimate Guitar app. I then hit the pedals and buttons to make sure the actions are received. As mentioned in one of the comments, if you switch out of Ultimate Guitar to another app then switch back to UG, the pedal may not work. Again, go all the way into that "Air Turn Settings" and hit the pedals and buttons and things should be fine. Since the AirTurn is actually seen as a keyboard to the UG app. Therefore, if you are working on a tab and decide to edit it, or if you want to search for a tab, the virtual keyboard of the iPad or iPhone will NOT come up. I don't believe this is the fault of UG, I believe it is a iOS issue since the AirTurn is a "keyboard". Going into the "Air Turn Settings" path (shown above) does have a "On/Off" slider button and I have only had limited success temporarily turning off the AirTurn so I can use the virtual keyboard. Granted, there are a few quirks using the AirTurn with UG but I have had success using it.
