Progressive Rock | No Man Escapes Fate | Sutton Full Concept Album | Homer Blake Shakespeare Henley
No Man Escapes Fate is a progressive rock concept album by Sutton, inspired by some of the greatest works of world literature. Blending progressive rock, art rock, lyrical ballads and touches of flamenco fusion, the album unfolds as a single journey through fate, free will, love, war, solitude, hope and the resilience of the human spirit. Rather than presenting unrelated literary adaptations, each composition explores a different perspective on the same timeless question: can we escape our destiny, or can we only choose how we face it? From Homer's heroes to Henley's Invictus, the album follows this philosophical thread, with recurring musical themes culminating in a final coda that returns to where the journey began. The album draws inspiration from Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, William Blake's visionary poetry, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Cyprian Norwid's W Weronie, and William Ernest Henley's timeless Invictus. Some tracks present original literary texts set to music, while others feature original lyrics inspired by these classic works. If you enjoy artists such as King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Camel, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Opeth or Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree, this album is for you. Bard: "A face… a fleet… a war… a man… a thought… a trick… a trick to break the walls of Troy… and burn it screaming to the ground!" ... „O Muse... tell me not of his glory, but of his grief. Tell me of the man who broke under the weight of the waves, but refused to die.” Tracklist Side A 00:00 No Man Escapes Fate* 05:28 Unconquerable (instrumental) 08:46 The Tyger (William Blake) 13:08 Jerusalem (William Blake) Side B 16:53 Mirage (instrumental) 20:54 Fortune's Fool (inspired by Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet')* 25:53 In Verona (inspired by Norwid's 'W Weronie')* 29:56 Invictus (William Ernest Henley) 34:10 Coda (theme from "No Man Escapes Fate") Music: KS | Sutton Original lyrics by KS, inspired by works of literature.
