HOW MANY GEAR CHANGES ARE MADE DURING A DRIVING TEST? IN 10 MINUTES THEY ARE MADE... The vast majority of the cars in circulation in Italy are equipped with a manual transmission, which means having three pedals underneath: accelerator and brake, but above all the clutch pedal, to be pressed and gradually lifted, together with a lever, to be moved back and forth every time you need to change a gear. But can you imagine how many gears are changed, for example in ten minutes, driving in a built-up area? Let's see it together in this video. After the acronym. Today's cars, equipped with a manual transmission, are driven exactly like those that were driven, forty, fifty, sixty years ago: you slowly lift the clutch pedal to start, then, to change the gear, you lower it again, you move the gear lever, and then you lift it up again. And this operation must be done at every gear change: clutch down, I move the gear lever and lift the clutch up again, dozens, hundreds of times while driving. Now let's get in the car together and, out of curiosity, let's see how many gear changes we make in ten timed minutes, driving inside a town. Let's go. … Driving a car with a manual transmission requires a certain amount of effort and concentration, especially when you're just starting out and nothing comes automatically. Then you get the hang of it and everything becomes easier. But it will never be as simple as driving a car with an automatic transmission: no clutch and no gear levers to move continuously: everything is truly simpler and more relaxing. Can you take the driving test with a car with an automatic transmission? Surely yes, but then, on the license, a code is reported that limits driving exclusively to vehicles equipped with this type of transmission, therefore prohibiting driving those equipped with a manual transmission. Is it worth it? Here in Italy, probably not yet, given that cars with automatic transmission are still a minority compared to those with manual transmission. And what do you think? Automatic or manual? Write it to me as always in the comments below, and let's see who wins. This video also ends here, we'll see you soon with the next one, always here, on the Guidare Oggi channel, with Andrea. #drivingexam #drivingpatentexam #gearchanges #clutch
