Story of dog Jip, from 4 to 3 legs (Part 1)

Early February 2012, at almost 13 yrs of age, my dog Jip was diagnosed with bonecancer(osteosarcoma). This is the amazing story from my amazing doggle, from diagnoses till 8 weeks after amputation. We didn't decide for chemotherapy because of her respected age and the stress that might bring it(2,5 hrs drives to clinic, docters etc.). For another 18 months Jip lived a glorious and joyfull life. End of december 2013 we had to put her asleep because of a tumor that grew in and on her back spine. This "ball' on her back that started to show up one year after amputation never bothered or limited her, until in the last couple of weeks of her life, when walking and getting up became difficult. The very first day she could hardly get up by herself, no longer pee by herself without the risk to fall, we made the hardest decision. The vet came to our house to euthanise her. Jip was quiet, and went peacefully(we believe). We buried her in the fruittree garden of our best friends, 15 km from our house, since we didn't have a garden. 6 months later we fell in love with a house in the country. It happened to have a gardenview on the spot where Jip is buried, only 500 meters away, on the horizon. We now live there:). Jip was, and still is an inspiration to us, and hopefully to you. We then adopted a 2yr old Greek straydog (now 4yrs) who also misses a frontleg, from a car accident. It is also written with the thought of the feeling of coming home with someone special.
