Snežniška planota s kolesom – divjina, vzponi, spusti in razgledi do morja #sneznik #lepoteslovenije

On a beautiful, crystal‑clear December day, I set out to explore the Notranjska–Primorska region – an area that never fails to surprise with its wild beauty, forests, and breathtaking views. This adventure began in the peaceful village of Vrbica (427 m) near Ilirska Bistrica. The first kilometres through the charming valley of the Reka River already hinted that the day would be something special. I continued with an ascent to the mighty Snežnik plateau, where I visited several peaks and enjoyed the complete silence of the high forests. The first goal was Goljak (1145 m), followed by the highest point of the tour – Veliki Razbor (1300 m), which offered one of the most stunning views of the entire route. The descent below Kozlek felt almost magical, but soon the toughest part of the day arrived: a very demanding 150‑metre climb while pushing the bike, which brought me to the top of Kozlek (997 m), home to a cosy mountain hut. From the summit, I descended toward Srednji vrh (910 m) and Sopil (869 m), and finally enjoyed an attractive downhill ride back into the valley, returning to the starting point in Vrbica. In total, I covered 35 km and climbed 1150 metres of elevation. Along the way, I was rewarded with exceptional views of the entire Reka River valley, the Kvarner Bay, and even the islands of Krk and Cres.
