This is the soundtrack for "Journey To Peak", a Super Mario World-Romhack. Hack & music produced by Silver Wind aka BannedPenta (‪@BannedPenta01‬) Release date: 10/22/2024 SPC-Set Download: https://www.mekacheck.com After committing war crimes (!) against Yoshis, Mario is sentenced to death and must spend his afterlife in hell. But there's always a way out: Mario just has to overcome a series of Kaizo obstacles… However, the graphics and music certainly also contribute to the level of difficulty. To authentically depict this hellish place, they are deliberately off-putting and strange. It's certainly a place you'll want to get away from as quickly as possible - but I think it's also fair to say that Silver Wind meant a bit too well...? While this rather unusual approach to the music doesn't bother me too much, it could have benefited from some fine-tuning. I usually export the spcs with settings that would match the sound of the actual hardware, but in this case, I had to make some custom adjustments and tweaks to reduce the volume so the waveform wouldn't look like a block - not to mention to get rid of some digital noise caused by the overdrive. So, you could call the music in this video "remastered" ;) - obviously that doesn't apply to the spc-files, which are... LOUD.
