10 days in JAPAN: off the beaten path

Hi! On this trip I’m setting off on my very first campervan trip in Japan. My destination is the Izu Peninsula - a place I completely fall in love with. Along the way, I experience early sakura blossoms in Japan for the first time… and then the second, third, and fourth. I roam freely around iconic Mount Fuji, exploring Mt Fuji viewpoints, and make my way through heavy snowfall in Yamanashi Prefecture during winter. I camp in the snow, get stuck - and unstuck - in mud, and try local Japanese food, all while documenting the reality of van life Japan travel. Of course, things don’t go exactly as planned. In this journey, I show you hidden sakura spots in Japan where you can see cherry blossoms before peak season and without crowds, including areas like Kawazu, known for early blooming sakura. I also run into a real language barrier in Japan, where even Google Translate can’t always help.
