Seal Trapped in a Loop of Plastic: No Way Out!

This entanglement was so old, we couldn't even tell if it was a packing strap or a piece of plastic rope. But in the end, the material doesn't matter, the result is always the same: infection, starvation, or suffocation. There is no middle ground. Once an animal is stuck in a loop of plastic, there is no escape. This seal was incredibly lucky because he came ashore where we could find him. Most marine animals do not have that luxury. Every single day, they are forced to swim through our endless, growing heap of rubbish. They aren't just dealing with today's trash; they are fighting to survive against the waste of last year, and even the last decade. Every single day, it gets harder for them to get away. 🦭 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Please visit our website to find out more about our work and how to support us: ➡ Website: https://www.ocnamibia.org/ ➡ Donate via Paypal: https://ow.ly/BTm550PIavq ➡ Donate via Stripe: https://ow.ly/Xy1F50PIMzQ ➡ Support via Patreon:   / ocn   ➡ FAQs: https://www.ocnamibia.org/faqs Follow us on social media: ➡ Instagram:   / oceanconservationnamibia   ➡ Facebook:   / ocnamibia   ➡ TikTok:   / oc_namibia   ➡ LinkedIn:   / ocnamibia   ➡ Twitter:   / ocnamibia   😊 Thank you for every like, share, comment and subscribe 😊 Ocean Conservation International is registered as a non-profit organisation under chapter 501(c)3.
