Modernized Regional (Former Otis) Traction Elevators at Delta by Marriott City Centre, Ottawa, ON

Taken June 2017 Well, to those who were wanting me to continue using my intro, My editing dilemma has been solved, and I edited this with Premiere Pro today. So yay! I do have a few videos I have uploaded that I have not made public yet that are totally raw, but don't worry I will be editing rest of my new videos!!!!! Anyways, these are the NEWLY MODERNIZED Regional, formerly Otis, Elevators that serve the guest floors at the Delta by Marriott City Centre Hotel (Former Crowne Plaza and Skyline Hotel) in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. These Elevators and this Hotel are VERY Sentimental to me, as I actually stayed here back in 2006 and 2009!!!! Needless to say, this hotel has seen a TON of change over the past 10 years!!! This place originally opened in 1967 as the Skyline Hotel and became the Crowne Plaza either in the 1990s or 2000s, and these Elevators were originally Otis Touch Sensitive, but modernized with Dewhurst US89 fixtures By some Unknown Company in 2007 but the Otis floor indicator was left intact (Look up "elevator crowne plaza ottawa" and see jtelev and robertbj1077's videos to see what these elevators looked like from their first modernization), then in 2011, Marriott bought this hotel and it became a Delta, and they did a MASSIVE Renovation to the lobby, hallways and guestrooms in 2013, and this year (2017), they renovated the lounge area, the pool and also the elevators (again!)!!!!!! 10 years after a Generic Dewhurst US89 Mod, these got Modernized AGAIN this year, with Dewhurst US91 fixtures, by none other than local company Regional Elevator!!!!! I'm not sure how much was updated with the first mod, but with this new mod, they now have New Motors, controllers, cabs, fixtures, EVERYTHING!!!! This not a replacement though as the Otis logo is still there and the indicator was placed where the old one used to be. While I do find it RIDICULOUS these got modded AGAIN, I could care less as the fixtures and cabs look FAR NICER than what they looked like with the first modernization, though I wish these were never modernized at all and still continued to be Otis Touch Sensitive. Nonetheless, the first mod happened, along with this mod, which we can't do anything about, and while it's sad, this mod is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT Over the first modernization, it looks far nicer and not as cheap feeling, and these are actually quite fun to ride!!! So BRAVO REGIONAL!!! Also, what I find funny is, I'm still quite young, but this is one of TWO Elevators I've been on that has been modded twice that I got to see when original, and after both modernizations (The other was the Seas at Epcot). The Parking Elevators (Otis Lexan) survied the first modernization, did they survive the second modernization!?!?!?! Stay tuned and find out!!! The Service Elevators as you saw were Otis Black Button, but they couldn't let me ride them due to construction going on in the hotel. Anyways, not much else to say about these, but enjoy some NICE Modernized Regional Elevators at a place I got to stay back when I was just a little bitty kid!!!! Installed: 1967 (Otis Circle Touch Sensitive) Modernized: 1st Modernization: 2007 (Unknown Company with Dewhurst US89 Fixtures, updated controller, old Otis indicator kept intact, unknown if anything else was replaced) 2nd Modernization: 2017 (Regional Elevator Company with Dewhurst US91 fixtures, new cabs, new controllers, fixtures, motors, etc.)
