Rock Choir sing Don't Stop Me Now at Wolverhampton Race For Life (14/06/26)

Apologies to our 2 newer members who didn't know this song, but gamely gave it a go anyway - bravo! On Sunday 14th June 2026, members of the Stourbridge & Kidderminster Rock Choirs were once again asked to entertain local runners as they slogged their way around beautiful West Park in Wolverhampton in the annual Race For Life. This was a special gig for us as it was our very first gig with our new leader Nick, and his very first with Rock Choir! We also sang our two new songs for the first time - one without even having time to rehearse with our downloads. Huge thanks to our regional boss lady Sonia for coming along to help Nick out so we had a few more songs in our repertoire. You'll get there Nick! These types of events are always more informal than 'regular' performances as the Rockies waved and cheered on runners of all abilities as they passed us. This year, we rocked up at the bandstand so we could wave to the runners easier as we were closer to the running route. Thank you to those runners who sang along, danced on by or just waved as they passed through. You all did a splendid job and hopefully plenty of money was raised for Cancer Research UK. Well done to Nick on his first gig as our leader (very energetic he was too!) and huge thanks to our former leader Paola for all her support; past, present and future.
