Music & Friendship - Ethno Sweden Mini Documentary

In the summer of 2025, filmmaker Daniel Forss joined us on site during Ethno Sweden. His original assignment was to produce a few short promotional films. But Daniel simply couldn’t stop filming. He fell deeply in love with Ethno and followed us through workshops, late-night jams by Lake Siljan, the folk music festival in Bingsjö, rehearsals, and our grand final concert. In the basement of the school where we are based, he set up a film studio and conducted in-depth interviews with both participants and staff. This short film offers a glimpse into what happens during an Ethno in Sweden. It holds music and friendship, laughter and reflection, hearts swelling and borders dissolving. It hints at something difficult to explain—why so many leave an Ethno feeling changed forever. In the best possible way. This version of the film is around 20 minutes long — complete in itself, while also leaving the door open for a longer version that could further explore the stories, music, and connections that emerged during Ethno.
