2018 Mazda CX-9 Test Drive – Does The Three-Row Crossover Segment Need A Driver’s Car?

We were handed the keys to the new 2018 Mazda CX-9 (Grand Touring trim) to experience two weeks of the family car experience. We quickly discovered that Mazda focused all of its energy on making the CX-9 fun to drive. The CX-9 is powered by Mazda’s first ever turbocharged SkyActiv engine, which produces over 300 lb-ft of torque while still retaining good fuel economy. It may have some questionable infotainment tech, but the CX-9 is chock full of safety aids and a car-like driving demeanor that makes it an interesting choice in the segment.
