Penetrating Dye crack test, how to magnaflux to test for cracked engine blocks.
How to test for a cracked block or cylinder head using a 3 step penetrating dye test, or a non destructive test. The 3 steps are put the dye on your clean part, after waiting the correct amount of time use the cleaner to clean the dye off, then spray the developer on and see if you have any hairline cracks. A nice test to be able to do at home so you know if your engine block and/or cylinder head is cracked or not. You can get these cans at grainger and other places and I think amazon even sells some kits.
