Today I went back to the familiar stream, where my father and I used to catch fish together. But returning to that place full of memories, the laughter of yesteryear only echoes in my mind, making my heart ache and tears fall. Even so, life must go on. I continued walking along the stream and luckily found some snails crawling out of the field after plowing. Bringing the snails home, I prepared a simple meal with ingredients readily available in the garden. From lighting the fire, cooking the rice, boiling the snails, preparing the vegetables, to finishing the dish, everything happened in the quiet of the small house. But what hurt me most was sitting at the table and looking at the familiar seat beside me. That's where Uyên Thư used to sit. My daughter used to eat and tell stories, laughing and joking, filling every meal with joy. But today, I'm left alone with unforgettable memories. If Uyen Thu were still here, she'd probably be asking me to take her outside to gaze at the moon and count the stars. Thinking about that, the rice in my hand no longer tastes good.
