To commemorate Federico García Lorca on the 90th anniversary of his death, the National Comedy Theater is preparing a production of *The House of Bernarda Alba*, the last play written by the Andalusian poet before his execution during the Spanish Civil War. With a version and direction by the Spanish playwright Amelia Ochandiano, this emblematic work of theater will be combined with another art form: opera. As the premiere approaches, scheduled for July 30, the National Comedy Theater emphasizes that this year is particularly significant because it also marks the centenary of the meeting between García Lorca and Margarita Xirgu, the actress, director, and teacher who left an indelible mark on Uruguay.
