What is ALC? Where should I set it? And why...
The ALC limits the output power, protecting your rig from over-power and over-heating, especially in the Final Amplifier circuit. It does this by applying a bias voltage to the input signal, essentially clamping down on your signal as it is increased. As you increase the input signal, the more ALC voltage, as displayed on your ALC meter, will be applied. The trick is to find the balance between having enough input signal power to drive your system to your desired output power, and having so much input that your ALC limiting voltage begins to affect the quality of the output signal, and I’ll show you where that is in the demo.
