At one point of time, we had a couple of manufacturers like Tata, Fiat, Opel, Maruti etc experimenting with the wagon / estate body style in India. Although they were practical, buyers didn't take a liking to them and chose their sedan versions instead. Eventually we had them all confined to the history books and today only a handful of them exist in the upper luxury car segment.
