H.E. Sayed Jaafar Al-Hakeem: Born in 1965 in the holy city of Najaf as the grandson of the Grand Jurist Sayyid Muhsen Al Hakeem, Sayed Jafar Al-Hakeem joined the Islamic Seminary at the early age of 12. Despite being imprisoned by the tyrant Saddam Hussein, he carried on his studies under the supervision of a number of scholars who were in prison with him. He was able to escape Saddam’s prison and move to Qum, where he studied under a number of scholars including Ayatullas Al-Khorasani, Al-Tabrizi and al-Fayadhi. After the fall of Saddam’s regime, Sayed Al-Hakeem moves back to Najaf where he continued to teach and write. His research covers a wide variety of topics, including contemporary philosophical, social, political and psychological issues.
