Ken Betwa Chita Satyagrah: केन बेतवा के खिलाफ गले में फांसी का फंदा, नदी में चिता पर लेटे आदिवासी

Protests against the Ken-Betwa River Link Project have intensified in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Tribal women in the area have now launched a 'Phansi Satyagraha' (protest involving the threat of hanging). The tribal community alleges that they have not received adequate rehabilitation or compensation. There have also been allegations of large-scale irregularities in the scheme, with names being struck off the beneficiary lists. Notably, the protesting women—wearing nooses around their necks—have demanded that if the government cannot provide proper rehabilitation and justice, it should grant them permission for euthanasia. Today marks the tenth day of this protest, which is taking place on the banks of the Barana River near Kupi village.
