The World's Most Underrated Capital (Taiwan)

Here's how to spend the perfect 3 days in Taipei, including top attractions and hidden gems! 🇹🇼 Taipei is the beautiful capital of Taiwan and with its ancient blend of old meets new, vibrant street markets, and ease of access to nearby nature, makes for the perfect long weekend escape. In this travel guide we'll experience the best food Taipei has to offer, as well as the very best things to do for first time travellers (and those who think they know it all). We'll begin our trip to the city by exploring Longshan Temple before discovering countless birds and other wildlife at Taipei Botanical Garden. Then it's a walk to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall before an evening exploration of Dihua Old Street. The next day we'll explore some cafés in Ximen (including a traditional Taiwanese breakfast) before heading to Beitou, where we'll learn all about Taiwan's hot spring culture. Then it's time to hike the Elephant Mountain Trail at sunset where we'll marvel at views of Taiwan's tallest building, Taipei 101. In the evening we'll get lost in the bright lights of Ximen. Taipei is a great base from which to take day trips and on our third day we'll take the most popular day trip to Jiufen, where we'll meet a calligraphy brush maker, enjoy a traditional tea ceremony and see why everyone compares Jiufen to Spirited Away.
