WALKS IN DORSET at IWERNE MINSTER & IWERNE COURTNEY OR SHROTON (4K)

In this episode of my series “Walks in Dorset”, I take a 4.5 mile circular walk between the villages of Iwerne Minster & Iwerne Courtney (AKA Shroton). Once again I am accompanied by my Whippet, Logan. I parked my car in Iwerne Minster and started my walk with a wander through the village, visiting the Church of St Mary and passing by some beautiful houses & cottages (as well as a couple of village pumps!). My route took me West from the village, along a public footpath through the grounds of Clayesmore School and around a pretty lake. I continued Westwards towards Park Farm at which point I changed direction, past the site of what was once a Roman Villa and South to the pretty village of Iwerne Courtney. After visiting the church (as well as The Cricketers Pub) and exploring the village, I crossed the River Iwerne & A350 to join a section of the Wessex Ridgeway. My route took me up Preston Hill where there were some stunning views to enjoy. My final leg took me North back to Iwerne Minster.
